METU Aikido Dojo wishes quick recoveries for its student Aykut Baykara, who had a bad traffic accident in Germany, where he was working, and was in coma for a long period. Aykut Baykara was one of our first students wearing hakama. He was holding the lectures in the Kızılay dojo, with permission of our sensei and we owe him the presence of the Kızılay dojo, which has about 30 students and we have no suspect about the strength of his personality. He is now in the recovery period and is in the regular unit of the hospital instead of the intensive care unit. This picture was taken during the period when he was in the intensive care unit, by his best friend Alper, who is also one of the students of our dojo, and to whom we are very thankful. All our blessings are for Aykut. We love you very much.

METU Kids Aikido end of semester activity
The activity for the end of the semester has been held on the 8th of June 2008 at Baraka Sports Hall, at 3.30 p.m. with the leadership of our sensei, the instructor of Metu Aikido.
After this activity in which the kids performed some special aikido technics, certificates were given to all of the kids.
Dan Examination
We celebrate our old president Çağdaş Bilen, who has been successful in the Dan Examination, which was held on 29th of December 2007 on Saturday after the 7th Nebi Vural Sensei seminar, under the direction of Nebi VURAL Sensei. Çağdaş has been the 1st Shodan (black belt) of our dojo.
Kyu Examinations
Kyu Examination were held in our dojo on the 11thof November by Barış Sensei.
METU Aikido Dojo Introductory Meeting
An organization was held for introducing the sports opportunities in METU to the new-coming students on the 13thof September. You can see the photos of our performance as Metu Aikido Dojo below.
Traffic Accident
First of all; we wish quick recoveries for everyone who were effected from the traffic accident that took place on the way back from Uludağ Aikido Camp(11-18 August). 18 people were in the minibus whose brakes did not work during the accident. Nobody was injured seriously after the accident. Everyone is now well, Volkan who had scartches on his face and an edama on hs leg is getting better. He is well enough to attend the lessons in the new semester. In addition thanks to everone who shared their best wishes and supports, including Nebi Vural Sensei,instructors of dojos of Bursa, Çanakkale, İstanbul and İzmir, METU Directorate of Sports Activities and its staff, the parents of kids aikido group, the members of our dojo who were not in Bursa, the members of Defensive Arts Club of Security Department, and Metu Taekwando Club. In addition special thanks to Police Department Leader Erol Esen, Chief Superintendent Officer Mr. Rafet, the head doctor of medico who took a strong intrest in the treatment of Volkan and Alev, and our academic advisor and chairman of METU Physical Education and Sports Department, Feza Korkusuz, the father of Arzum and Ömer from kids aikido group Dr. Sinan Kara, and the doctor of our dojo, our student Dr. Emrah Aslan.
Shodan Trial Test
Congrulations to our student Çağdaş Bilen who was succesful in the Shodan trial test which took place on August 16th2007 in Uludağ Aikido Camp

AWARD CEREMONY
Metu Diretorate of Sports has awarded our sensei Barış Şentuna and president Çagdaş Bilen with a plaque of success and Cavid Musayev, Emre İlke Coşar, Aykut Baykara, Gökçe Altun, Koray Çiftçi, Sinem Şaşmaz, İlham Mammadov and Polat Özen were given participation sertificates. Thanks and congrulation to all of them.

General Kyu Test
As a result of the general kyu test on February 18, Mehmet Yalçın, Çağan Aksak and Berkay Sarpkaya are promoted to 6.Kyu, Zeynep Deniz Eygi is promoted to 5.Kyu, Cihan Yıldırım, Erdal Bozkurt and Derya Büyüksavcı are promoted to 4.Kyu, Barış Çolak and Hamdi Kamçı are promoted to 2.Kyu. We congratulate them for their success.
7-6 Kyu Test
As a result of the 7-6 Kyu test on February 4, students of aikido for kids Baran Babayiğit, Mustafa Cem Canbaz, Ceren Su Şahin and Berksu Güven are promoted to 6. Kyu. We congratulate them for their success.
First Lecture of the January –February Term
