METU Aikido Dojo, has been going on its activities with its 90 students since 2001. It contains students, graduates and academic personnel. METU Aikido dojo is a follower of Nobuyoshi Tamura Shian, who is a student of the establisher of Aikido, Morihei Ueshiba, and known as the “living legend”, and the very best student of Tamura Shian, Nebi Vural Sensei. Their conception of Budo has always been a guide for METU Aikido Dojo. In addition to the training, METU Aikido Dojo attends many national and international events like seminars or charity issues. The basis of the dojo is four fundamentals; solidarity, sharing, public spirit and embracing. METU Aikido Dojo is a member of Eurosia Aikido Organization which has members from 15 countries and coached by Nebi Vural Sensei. Sometimes common organizations are held by its members some of which are Boğaziçi University, Hacettepe University, Bilkent University, and The Police Academy. The base of our dojo is the Philosophy of Aikido; during the trainings, Barış sensei informs the students about the philosophies of both aikido and the Far East, with comparisons with the west, with the help of his philosophy education. When Barış Sensei’s knowledge about physical education gets together with the technical knowledge of Nebi Vural Sensei, this composition has resulted in the most crowded dojo of Turkey. .
